Suggested Texts for Your Announcement

Homeschool graduation scenarios are varied, and an announcement wording that fits one family may not fit yours. But to give you place to start, we're showing a number of options for you on this page, grouped into three different categories, below.

With these suggestions we also hope to get you thinking about ways to express the uniqueness of your child's education, and perhaps the spiritual dimension of this passage. Remember that you may add a Bible verse or motto to the inside panel opposite your main text!

  • Our order forms now offer four of our "Most Popular Texts" as an option for you to use without having to type in the entire text. You can choose the wording you want and give us the information; we create the text based on your selections. The texts offered in this way are noted in red below and shown on this page.

  • We also have a page with guidelines for writing your own text. Remember that we proofread every announcement text carefully and can often improve the reading or appearance. Our order forms ask if you are willing to allow us to make minor changes, and we will always contact you if we have questions or suggestions beyond the scope of what you have given us permission for.

  • Would you like to emphasize the student's name? Yes, we can set it in a larger font; see this page or the order form for details.

Section One:

Parents making the announcement of their student's graduation.

This may be an announcement only (no ceremony), an invitation to a private ceremony (at home or church),
or an invitation to a party or open house

#1

Our order forms offer this as "Popular Text C"

(Parents' names in the body of the text
rather than below it; this is written in the third person)

as a "signature;" this is written in the first person)

#3

This is the same wording as #2, but shows how
to condense the numeric sections of the text so
it will fit on a design where space is limited.

#5

This is an example of an announcement where no specific time or date
are given. This looks best if the parent's names are in the first line rather
than skipping another line to put them at the end.

#10

Our order forms offer this as "Popular Text D"

Note the use of "their son" instead of "our son" because
the text is written in the third person.

This wording is appropriate for a card with a slot for a name card, or one of our foil announcements with the student's name printed on the front of the card, since it is not in the text.

(An open house card or party invitation could be included
if the family was planning a celebration after the ceremony.)

#13

The last two lines, giving information about the open house,
would be smaller, but centered. There is no "corner copy" charge
if the last lines are centered; just request this in the "notes" area.

The portraits of our childhood are almost completed
The final touches are all that is needed
Each painting has required several artists' dedication
Every color was selected
 by the Master Artist's direction
Now each masterpiece is ready to face the new day
We invite you to the Graduation Ceremony of
Park County Families for Home Education
on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.

(Each family would use a name card with the student's name, or the
student name would be printed on the front of the card.)

Note: the lines of this verse are too long to fit on a card with
a vertical design. It works well on a horizontal design.

#16

Here, the name of the home school is given, as well as the
organization holding the ceremony.
